Reduce risks of manipulations in Manual Therapy
10-03-2017
For disorders of the cervical spine, high level clinical reasoning is crucial as poor diagnosis and management can result in a serious adverse event.
To reduce the risk of such events following manual therapy the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists (IFOMPT) developed a clinical reasoning model, called the IFOMPT-framework. This framework is widely used in different countries, but we lack knowledge about its methodological properties (reliability and diagnostic accuracy). Therefore, the
Go4Safe research project is needed to assess its reliability and diagnostic accuracy. To finance the cost of 150 MRA-scans of the cervical and cranial blood supply (MRA = magnetic resonance angiography) we need your financial support.
Please support us, so we can support you with better evidence for your daily clinical practice. The project is conducted at the university and medical centre in Amsterdam, The Netherlands - two highly respected centres for their research quality and relevance.
